uk dog sport
UK Dog Sport (UKDS) is an exciting and fun sport designed to incorporate so many fun elements from different sports.
At its most basic levels exercises allow for dogs to be worked on the lead and encouraged with food or toys, and yet the top level is set at a standard equal to the highest level of competition.
It is not Kennel Club affiliated which means that all dogs can join in.
As you progress the levels they become more challenging which keeps things interesting as there is always something new to aim, for should you wish to.
An equally challenging and rewarding new sport that I am delighted to be able to bring to you!
UKDS nosework & control exercises
There are nosework & control exercises to train with your dog plus the agility elements
You have 6 levels to work through from Foundation all the way through to Expert level.
You can choose to learn for fun and work your way through the levels of learning or you can enter tests to progress on a more official level.
As well as teaching your dog the nosework and control elements required in UKDS there are three elements of Agility.
The Agility section consists of an A-frame, a Clear Jump and a Tunnel. Smaller dogs will have the clear jump reduced (see Agility section) and no qualification is required to enter these two levels.
What can I expect to be doing at UKDS groups?
Heelwork, retrieve, sendaways, recall, speak, search, downstay, A-frame, clear jump and tunnels will all be covered over time as you progress.
Do I have to compete?
Absolutely not! You can but equally, you can decide to just come along and enjoy learning and challenging your dog.
Is there anything else I should know?
If you do wish to compete you can become a member, currently, this is offered by UKDS for free.
Your dog should be sound physically to take part but also of good temperament with both dogs and people. If you feel your dog isn’t suitable for groups, chat to me about private sessions instead.

PLEASE NOTE:
It is expected that dogs will be of good temperament and under control when taking part in these group classes.
If you wish to learn on a 121 bases please contact me to arrange using the contact page on this website.
